Miami-Dade County Public Schools is the fourth largest school district in the country. The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida (The Board) adopted policy 6320.02 (Small/Micro, Minority/Women Owned, and Veteran Business Enterprise Programs) to provide expanded and equitable participation by small/micro businesses, minority/women-owned and veterans in School Board procurement of goods and services, construction, and professional services.

Mission Statement 
The Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) promotes the economic development and growth of Small/Micro Business, Minority/Women Owned and Veteran Business Enterprises through its certification program, community outreach programs, contract review and monitoring activities in addition to ongoing interaction with other municipal agencies, quasi-public agencies and the local marketplace. The OEO strives to ensure that local SBE’s, MBE’s, M/WBE’s and VBE’s have the maximum opportunity to do business with the School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida and to provide equal opportunity for all segments of the contracting community. The OEO currently operates under School Board Policy 6320.02.
